Launched boat from Tootgarook ramp with old man before first light on Sunday 26th March. On 2 drifts in 22-25 feet over weed beds off Chinamans creek we landed about 8 squid. Most on rods just left dangling a directly tied jig and left in rod holders with no action while we handline on paternoster rigs. Over 1/2 were good size with hoods above 30-35cm. Fished the wreck (old Hurricane) for snapper, no snapper but landed a 3 1/2 foot male gummy. Tried for whitting on very slow incoming tide and not a touch. Went back and caught another 4-5 good squid. Could have kept going but wanted to take girls out for a water ski etc...
