Over the last decade

Postby mrfisho Sat Dec 09, 2017 7:23 am

Over the last decade, calamari squid have become an increasingly popular target species for anglers fishing Port Phillip Bay.
Results from our boat ramp surveys show that about 30% of recreational anglers targeted calamari last year, compared to less than 10% ten years ago.
Although calamari can be caught year round, the peak season is now upon us. With the weather warming up again, it’s a great time to cast a few jigs around the seagrass beds off the piers or from a boat.
We’d like to remind anglers that there is a combined daily bag limit for squid, octopus and cuttlefish of 10 per person: http://bit.ly/2klsmst.
Happy squid-jigging!
