Fishing 23rd December

Hi all,
Headed out yesterday with the kids and brother.
We left werribee at 6 am headed to pt wilson for some squid.. picked up 4 in minutes then died off tried a few areas around there for some flatties then tried long reef for donuts.
Finally ended up at the aquaculture areas. Donuts there as well. Just as we were about to pack it in one whiting rod went off like a steam train.. got my son Josh onto the rod and he had quite a fight on his hands...
Landed a 86cm gummy. His first!
He was super excited even gave it a name

Dad got back a bit later with 16 calas and 8 flatties
All in all a nice day out

WOW!!! Roger went fishing Well done on Josh getting his first Gummy he would be one happy kid for sure

Nice feed there. I went out on Sat as well but the snapper were very quiet so we pulled the pin early before 7:00 and went to get some squid. Got a few quickly then had to work hard for them. Ended up with 15 and a cuttlefish. Seemed to be a quiet day fishing except for the gummies. Saw a few reports of good gummies caught.
