Squid - Queenscliff and St Leonards

Postby Evo552 Sun Jun 18, 2017 4:05 pm

Two of us launched out from Queenscliff today at sunrise and spent the day chasing squid around Queenscliff and St Leonard's in 4-6 meters of water.
Best pattern jig was a tiger skin, size 2.5 and 3.
We also caught a few good size leather jacket, salmon and whiting - bait of choice was strips of cuttlefish.

Yes Streaker, it's a centre console with a 150 Merc.

I'm not 100% convinced of this but my chart plotter tells me 35knts. It does feel a lot faster though.
I'll have to confirm that one day.
Why do you ask ?

Ok nice, is yours a half cab ?
What speed do you get on yours ?
I am usually happy cruising at about 3500-3800 rpm. I think that's about 18-20 knots.
Actually I need to take it for the first service before I void the warranty at 40 hours ha ha. Almost tax time

Saltwater fishing, boat mad but has a job that gets in the way.

I would have thought 34 knots would be fairly slow for a 140 suzy. Is that full noise?
