Anthony, nothing special about the monofil 26, they were in production for some years.
HOWEVER, if your that way inclined, strip it down ( generally you can find the schematics online ) do away with the old drags and swap to the
HT 100 drag set up, and use it. It has quite a big line capacity, 15lb 400 odd yards, so perfect for the snapper in the bay or off
the peer. I have about 10 restored penns in the senator range, from tiburnium one piece frames with the new HT 100drag system and even stainless steel dogs and main shafts, there now bullet proof and can be used for near anything you throw at them.
there cheap to get on Ebay, although some are now harder and more expensive, but if your that way inclined, working on them as a hobby is very rewarding..............

Sorry, just saw your reply Blacklab. It was dug out of my wife's grandfathers belongings, not selling or anything, just wanted some info.
JR def not a newbie, don't know why it says 2 posts. But good for you.

Thanks for the info blacklab, appreciate it.

https://store.scottsbt.com/PennParts/Penn26.aspx

schematics + owners manual can be found at above link
I've used these guys in the states for bit's and pieces for my older penns - some bits are getting hard to get though
